ARLIS/SC is the Southern California Chapter of the Art Libraries Society of North America. Begun in 1974, the Chapter recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Our members include librarians, archivists, curators, and friends from the Southern California area, from San Diego to Santa Barbara. Membership is for a calendar year. We have 3-4 chapter meetings each year, including one at the ARLIS/NA annual conference. In addition, we meet occasionally for other, informal gatherings.
ARLIS/SC also sponsors travel awards to the annual conference. Since 2006, we have donated money to local institutions to honor our late members. See Memoriams.
Our Executive Board is made of volunteers elected by the membership. It consists of 5 officers who serve terms lasting 2-3 years. In addition, there are other volunteer opportunities for members, including webmaster, Canvas editor, and serving on committees.
