About Us
ARLIS/SC is the Southern California Chapter of the Art Libraries Society of North America. Begun in 1974, the Chapter recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Our members include librarians, archivists, curators, and friends from the Southern California area, from San Diego to Santa Barbara. Membership is for a calendar year. We have 3-4 chapter meetings each year, including one at the ARLIS/NA annual conference. In addition, we meet occasionally for other, informal gatherings.
ARLIS/SC also sponsors travel awards to the annual conference. Since 2006, we have donated money to local institutions to honor our late members. See Memoriams.
Our Executive Board is made of volunteers elected by the membership. It consists of 5 officers who serve terms lasting 2-3 years. In addition, there are other volunteer opportunities for members, including webmaster, Canvas editor, and serving on committees.

Welcome from the Chair
Welcome the the Southern California Chapter’s website. We are a regional chapter of the Art Libraries Society of North America. We meet to share arts information and network with information professionals in the Southern California area and are fortunate to be able to tour the many cultural institutions this are of the country has to offer. I invite you to take a look around our blog, learn more about our mission, and consider becoming a member.

Becoming an involved member of our chapter is is wonderful way to meet and network with colleagues in the area, learn about local cultural institutions and collections, and form life long friendships. We look forward to welcoming you to our chapter.
